A Letter from Carol TrasattoMy dearest Radiance Community--
I know many of you have been worried, having watched my usual state of health decline this past Fall. I want to share with you what has been up for me, if you don’t already know. First of all, it seems I may have had pertussis or whooping cough, which I can assure you is intense for an adult and which typically takes three or more months to fully resolve. Meanwhile, as I was struggling with my breathing, other symptoms began to emerge.
It turns out that I have been in relationship with lymphoma, a type of lymphatic cancer that is vigorous but which can also be transformed into full remission. I am engaging the best thinking and therapies of western medical oncology and also complementary natural medicine. I have an amazing team of great minds and hearts around me.
The reality is that all of us are in relationship with cancer cells to some degree. It’s a matter of balance and opportunity. And, as we have long discussed in this community, human health and the health of our air, our soil and our waters are truly inseparable. None of us are shielded from this basic truth. Let me leave it at that for now.
Even as I have been walking through the unfamiliar terrain of the western cancer treatment system, I have had heartfelt encounters with loving, caring, bright beings all along the way. The one heart truly permeates all. In this way, nothing has changed in my experience of life even though everything can seem to be changing. I am certainly operating with a new energy level and a new rhythm to my days. Still, it is one day at a time to be lived.
The therapeutic path of treatment will run its course, at minimum 18 weeks. My vision has been that this is a most deep-level transformation and healing journey for me, with all the challenges and grace that entails. I am surrendering as fully as I can to the flow of the process. I am taking a “restorative sabbatical” from Radiance, from my private consulting practice, from my beloved monthly Plants & Planets―in order to give my lifespirit every opportunity to focus, strengthen and re-harmonize. I envision myself in radiant health, in fact flourishing more than ever, as this path unwinds before me. You need to know that I have been envisioning taking wildflower walks in the mountains in late Summer!
And as of early March, the synergy of healing approaches being integrated is demonstrating profound impact. A diagnostic body scan showed that the lymphoma presence was reduced by 95% after the first two chemotherapy rounds! The oncologist I am working with says this level of healing response is a very positive harbinger of eventual remission. So be it!!

Please know that I have an extraordinary circle of dearly beloved friends who are supporting me mind, body and spirit. I also feel thoroughly companioned by Great Mystery, by my unseen helpers―so again, this has not changed. If anything, their presence and playfulness feels even more vivid for me in this time. It’s simply that now, as one breath follows the next, I am in relationship with lymphoma as well. I definitely have my flows of frustration and anxiety―mostly when dealing with the medical system!―but in the main my heart is smiling and at peace and I know with the whole of my being that All is Well.
Your visualizations and prayers on my behalf are most welcome. Please imagine me at my most vigorous and joyful, celebrating life as it unfolds.
Each in our own way, we all walk a journey of transformation in these extraordinary times. May we each find rest within the one divine heart as the great streams of change move through our lives.
